FOCUS on ENDOMETRIOSIS

Transvaginal ultrasound performed by experienced operators represents the pivotal examination in the diagnostic procedure and subsequent management of all major gynaecological pathologies.
The Master course consists of a theoretical part, divided into three “one-day” online sessions, and a practical part conducted at our second-level gynaecological ultrasound outpatient clinic.

THEORETICAL PART
This part consists of three “one-day” online courses,  that take participants through a full immersion in gynecological pathology.
All lessons will be available live and deferred for a period of 6 months and each lesson lasts 30 minutes divided into 20 minutes of theoretical part and 10 minutes of interactive part solving clinical cases and questions.

• 28th march 2025 “A SONOGRAFIC OVERVIEW OF GYNECOLOGIC WORLD BENIGN AND MALIGNANT PATHOLOGIES”
  The first course is structured around a detailed discussion of TV ultrasound, starting with the basics of ultrasound technique and then moving on to the study of the anatomy of the normal pelvis, benign gynaecological pathology and its malignant counterpart. There will be both basic and detailed lectures on the evaluation of the various organs.

• 30th may 2025 “THE IMPORTANCE OF ULTRASOUND IN THE PREOPERATIVE ASSESSMENT OF ENDOMETRIOSIS”
  The second course mainly analyses endometriosis in its various compartments and how an accurate ultrasound scan can provide a correct pre-surgical mapping of pathology and planning of the appropriate procedure.
  The course is enhanced by lessons performed by experienced gynecological surgeons who explain the importance and significance of an adequate ultrasound assessment for the appropriate management of the patient.
  The theoretical lectures will be alternating with ultrasound scans to make the application of what is described in the lectures more concrete. In addition interactive quizzes will be submitted to the participants to verify the acquisition of the concepts.

• 26th september 2025 “FOCUS ON ENDOMETRIOSIS AND FERTILITY”
  The third course analyses the complex relationship between endometriosis and fertility. The aim of this course is to study the two pathologies (endometriosis and infertility) and how one can modulate the other in terms of diagnosis and management.
  The course is enriched by experienced surgeons talking about endometriosis fertility-sparing surgery and by experts in Medically Assisted Reproduction discussing indications and protocols to use in infertile patients with endometriosis.

The aim of the course is not only to become able to diagnose endometriosis in infertile women, but also to consider the implications for fertility if diagnosed, and to assess the need and timing for surgery.

PRACTICAL PART
The practical part of the Master’s course consists of a minimum of 5 days of continuous attendance at our Ultrasound Diagnostic Clinic. During their stay, all course participants will attend our sonographic sessions, in order to  learn how to perform Second Level and pre-surgery ultrasound examinations, which are useful to optimize the ultrasound technique.
In addition, there will be a great opportunity to compare, in the short term, the ultrasound and surgical imaging and to observe the surgical fields during the surgical session visiting our operatory rooms.
Course participants will assist the operators in performing intraoperative ultrasound scans. These days will be tailored according to the participant’s level of expertise, expectations and objectives.
